Thanks be to God. I still can't see clearly yet, but I'm told that will come.
To folks who said the surgery was "short and sweet" and "a cinch", I'd say not quite. Having a doctor probe around in my eye while I was awake, made for a looong 15 minutes. One down, and one to go.
Thanks for the love and prayers. I'm sure they're what kept me from freaking out altogether. I see the doctor again tomorrow morning, and then it's back home for Grandpère and me until two weeks from now, when we do it all over again.
Thanks be to God for your successful surgery, and may you and Grandpère have a safe journey back home.
ReplyDeleteGlad the surgery was a success.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Mimi -- I would HATE having someone muck about in my eye but I would regret vision loss more and I guess you feel the same way.
ReplyDeleteWell, I didn´t say I wasn´t scared to death...it´s just that I didn´t die...we´re not done yet (in more ways than one)...isn´t it great to have grown way beyond jitters? LOL
ReplyDeleteLove to you,
Leonardo Ricardo
Glad the first one is over. Hope knowing what it is like will make it easier for the second one.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you.
Thank God for a successful surgery. I've had it on both my eyes. The difference was so remarkable that I cried when they took the shield off the next day and I got a good fresh look at life.
ReplyDeleteGlad it went well - prayers for a quick recovery and new sight.
ReplyDeleteThanks be to God, Mimi.
ReplyDeleteWhat susan s. said.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear that everything went well. Do take care.
ReplyDeleteMimi,
ReplyDeleteI am so thrilled the surgery went well! And nothing is ever as short or sweet as we'd like, or as others tell us it should be!
Yay! Get well soon, Grandmere.
ReplyDeleteHow brave you are! I've had both of mine done but had general anaesthetic because I am young(ish) and therefore its more tricky. I am so glad about that.
ReplyDeleteBut aren't the colours great? The grass sooooo green? The sky soooo blue? Enjoy it while you can for it doesn't last.
I am very glad it came out well!
ReplyDeleteThanks be to God!
Excellent news, congratulations. I'm very impressed by your courage, as well.
ReplyDeleteYou weren't in pain though while they operated, were you? I so hope not!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's all over and that your sight will recover now. It took a little while when my mother-in-law had her op, but it was worth it!
Hugs and prayers
Prayers for continued healing.
ReplyDeleteMimi - here's the thing: Never, ever, turn down legal drugs. And, if they aren't offered to you before a surgical procedure like that, ask for them.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you made it through so well. Prayers continue to ascend
I don't think any surgery is a cinch. I hope it was successful, and that the pain of it will be rewarded with improved and renewed vision.
ReplyDeleteContinuing thoughts and prayers for you.
I'm so glad to hear you're doing well. I watched my mom have hers and while it's good to know it's "routine" and generally quite successful, it's no picnic, as you know. Prayers for your rapid healing and eyesight as clear as your soulsight.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Mimi. We are thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back blogging already. I hope they gave you a bravery certificate or a sticker the size of a frying pan.
ReplyDeleteI second Petty's idea of a bravery certificate. So glad it went well. Prayers offered for ongoing recovery, round two, and improved vision.
ReplyDeleteEye eye, as I can affirm.
ReplyDeleteJust remember, Mimi ... minor surgery is what is done to others; major surgery is what is done to you.
ReplyDeletePrayers for a speedy recovery!
Thank you all again for the prayers and good wishes.
ReplyDeleteHi Grover. Welcome to my humble online abode.
I felt only twinges and pressure during the actual surgery, nothing unbearable except having a doctor probe around in my eye.
