Not a perfect analogy at the present time, surely, but think where we'd be if the Republicans had enough of a majority to pass legislation. For now, they can only obstruct, with the help of a few Democrats.
Republicans of this Congress confirm my view of them...rotten at the core, greedy and exploitive...they are nohow related to the decent Eisenhower Republicans of my parents day.
Would that the "D" part was a bit more than a generalization, but I like it.
