...exhausted and happy to be back here safe and sound in sleepy Thibodaux. Yesterday was a grueling, 20 hour travel day after my fantastic and fabulous trip to Scotland and England. I've a load of pictures and wonderful memories of my travels, but I'll need time to settle in here, take care of all the business that piled up while I was gone, and process and reflect on the journey, which was a dream come true for me. From where I sit at my computer, the trip already seems like a dream.
My main projects today are to wash my clothes and sort through the mail which piled up while I was gone, and that's just for starters. Have patience, my sweets, and you will hear it all.
Hurrah!!! Mimi's back online. I sent you a text message asking if you had got home OK then it occurred to me that you might already have switched off that phone. Anyway, I'm glad you got back safely.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Mimi. It will be wonderful to have you back on-line. You've been greatly missed.
ReplyDeleteYAY- I was just wondering if you had left us for Scotland forever.
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for this word of safe return. Welcome home. I shall try to be patient about stories and photos.
ReplyDeleteSorry it was a pig of a journey.
ReplyDeleteCathy, my beloved travel companion, my "over there" phone stopped working somewhere over the Atlantic, and my US phone had no service until I reached the area near the East Coast.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friends for caring. Three flights were with Continental Airlines, and they were fine, but the last flight home was with Continental Express, to whose services I could not give a warm recommendation. More later on that.
Yesterday, my day started at about 5:00 AM English time, and I got to bed at around 1:00 AM our time, after taking time only for a quick shower after I reached home.
Welcome back. My heart lifted as I opened your blog to find something other than that damn plane! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! Will try to wait patiently for the travelog. Like Tobias, I'm happy to see something other than that plane. Grandmère Mimi's back. Yea!
ReplyDeletePleased you are safe home dear heart and look forward to hearing your refelections. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteMy dear Tobias, the last plane was surely "that damn plane". I'm happy to be home and at rest from travels for a spell. Planes, trains, boats, on foot, I ran the gamut of means of transportation.
ReplyDeletePiskie, the travelogue will come, but I suspect in bits and pieces at first. I've a whole lot of material to process and reflect upon before I write. The first pieces will probably be viewed as quite trivial.
TheMe, I'm so pleased to have spend time with you and Petty at our lovely dinner in Newcastle. Your young German visitor was a charming addition to our party. God bless you and Petty, too, and keep you in good health and good cheer.
So glad you are safely home! That damn plane indeed! Love you Mimi, and jealous as can be! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYay! You're back! Hope it was a wonderful trip, and like everyone else, I can't wait to see pictures and hear about it.
ReplyDeletewv: "shicibu"
This must be a new dance you learned on your vacation.
What Tobias said! Great to see you back - I have been praying for you and imagining that you were having a fantastic journey!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Grandmère. You have been greatly missed.
ReplyDeleteAh well, Susan, I can't say that you shouldn't be jealous, because the trip was lovely.
ReplyDeletePenelope, read my latest post on dancing (almost) in the car.
Fran, thank you for your prayers and your imaginings of a fantastic journey. They came true.
Kitty, it's nice to hear I was missed. Thank you.
Just have to weigh in and say how good it is to have you back online. So glad you had a great trip and made it home safely, though tired.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back safe and sound! Hope your weather down there is better than ours is going be tomorrow! (I hate heat and humidity!)
ReplyDeleteMary Clara, thanks. When I went through my mail, I found that I forgot to pay one of my credit card bills before I left, and I had an interest charge and a delinquent charge for the first time ever. What can I say? I didn't pay.
ReplyDeleteChris, I washed sheets yesterday and hung them out to dry. Since then, it's been raining off and on, so I suppose that when the rain slacks off, I'll get them down and dry them in the dryer, as I don't know when we will have sunshine again. It's hot and humid here, too but not as hot as when I left for my trip, TBTG.
welcome back! waiting to hear the details but take your time, put your feet up and catch your breath, first.
ReplyDeleteHere I am ... late to the party as usual! So happy to have you back! I followed on Chin Wag and laughed a lot. Can't wait to hear all about it ... bits and pieces or whatever.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the Mad One can run tours as part of his ministry ... retreats to Scotland, etc.
Wellcome back! and all the best ;-)
ReplyDelete...put your feet up and catch your breath, first.
ReplyDeleteDennis, I seem not to be able to do much else at the moment.
Whiteycat, thanks. MadPriest knows the history and the places, and I suppose it would be all right if he forbid the passengers to talk to the driver, but he'd need to be evenhanded about his rules. He didn't forbid Cathy to talk.
Göran, thanks for the welcome.
