Cheers,

Paul (A.) must not have had much lawyering to do today.
Great -- and then there are the ancient texts that show 665 as the number. I was once in line in the Safeway and a clerk got all weird when my bill was 6.66 - she said "doesn't that bother you?" - I was mystified at first. A little slow on the 'beast' idea - thanks for help in the future Paul (A.) and Mimo.(must be Mimo not Mimi - who goes for this LOL)
ReplyDeleteYes, Ann, Mimo posted this one. Since I've returned, Mimo takes over the blog at times.
ReplyDeleteThe actual phone number prefix for the "Guest Sister" at St. Hilda's House, the Community of the Holy Spirit (CHS Sisters) in NYC at their original convent was 666. I used to wonder what sick and twisted person at the phone company gave that number to a convent. Now that they are moving into their new convent and will not longer be in the hospitality business, I will miss sleeping under their roof when in New York.
ReplyDeleteBoocat, I tried to stay with the nuns at St. Hilda's once, but they were all booked up. Too bad that I won't have another opportunity.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is delightfully funny! I'm definitely passing it on to a few (carefully selected!) people...

WV: tedieca. Collective for the set of tedious fundamentalists.
Ellie, to your smart friends, right?
ReplyDelete"Tedieca" is a wonderful word - one to be added to the lexicon.
Maybe not much lawyering, but he does dress purty.
