ReplyDeleteI noted that in years that were multiples of 11, my (late) mother's age and mine were reversed:
ReplyDelete1966: she was 40, I was 04.
1977: she was 51, I was 15.
1988: she was 62, I was 26 (this is actually the year I discovered this phenomenon!).
1999: she was 73, I was 37.
[It would have continued last year---11 years after 1999 (84, 48) but sadly, mom didn't make it that far. Effing ALS!] My math skillz are unfortunately insufficient to crack this. Anyone?
JCF, I thought Amelia might tell us, since she is a scientist, but she didn't. Of course, she's not a mathematician, but I thought she might help us anyway.
