From the Washington Times:
Feeling pain at the pump? Gas prices have doubled since Mr. Obama took office. According to the GasBuddy gasoline price tracking web site, the price of a gallon of regular gas was around $1.79 when Mr. Obama took office. Today the national average is $3.58. The lowest average price in the continental United States is $3.31 in Tulsa Oklahoma, the highest is $4.14 in Santa Barbara, CA. Four-dollar-a-gallon gas has arrived on average throughout California, and a number of other states are headed in that direction.
And it's all Obama's doing.
Wait! This is the Washington Times. Cook that red herring and eat it, but remember that it might not have anything to do with the price of gas.
Oh come on: everyone remember that Obama took office at the time of a gas price (and everything else!) COLLAPSE. Remember what gas prices were just a few months BEFORE then!
ReplyDeleteJCF, the article is so ridiculous that it's hardly worth noting, but folks swallow this garbage. Grrr...
ReplyDeleteMy heart bleeds. Petrol prices in NZ are NZ$2.19 per litre which is approximately US$6.37 per gallon
ReplyDeleteIn 1972, when I was living in Louisiana with my father, I took a summer job in New Jersey with the Girl Scouts. When I filled up in Louisiana on the way to my job, it cost me around $.30 per gallon. When I got north of the Washington beltway and filled up it was $.55 per gallon. I called my dad crying and saying that I was the victim of highway robbery. He laughed and told me to batten down the hatches since it was bound to get worse after I hit the New Jersey Turnpike. He was right about that. Don't I wish I could get a tank full of that $.55 gas today. LOL
ReplyDeleteLast night I filled up at 3.66/gal. Five exits later on I-90 gas was 4.00/gal. I dread the end of April when I have 5 trips to Pittsburgh for concerts - a 1200 mile week.
ReplyDeleteBrian, I don't expect sympathy from you, m'dear. I know fuel is still cheaper here in the US than in many parts of the world.
ReplyDeleteBooCat, the price from the past that sticks in my mind is 29 cents, keeping it under 30 cents which might frighten people. It seems to me that the price stayed the same for quite a long time. Those were the days!
Ah, Piskie, that hurts.
Wow isn't your President influential? You should see the prices here. Now I know who to blame.
ReplyDelete"Sir", whom do you blame? Her Majesty or David Cameron?
ReplyDeleteMy last 10.12 gallon purchase cost $40.05. And speaking of gas prices and pricing, don't you love how they they tack that last 99/100 on every gallon? 3.98 99/100!! Why don't they just round it to 3.99? Do they think they are fooling anyone?
ReplyDeleteDo they think they are fooling anyone?
ReplyDeletesusan, since they've been using the same tactic for years, they must think they are.
