I'm a lazy blogger today. We went to the Grandparents Day mass and reception at my grandson's school (on the right day!). The food at the reception was delicious. Afterward, we ran several errands, and I'm worn out.
We must decide whether we want to pay to connect our old computer, which is now in good shape, for Tom's exclusive use, or just go with the laptop and the new desktop and share the desktop. The old computer will not work on our wireless account.
Nice piccie of the three of you, Mimi. Grandparents Day sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you have said earlier Tom has mentioned wanting a computer he can use when he wants? ... :( ?? Which would perhaps suggest it would be worthwhile connecting the old one? ... Maybe I'm wrong about that though.
We can have my notebook and the new desktop on wireless for the same charge we pay now. That way we could get rid of the cable connection. But if Tom decides he wants his own computer, then we will need to continue with the cable charge. It's about money. I don't really care one way or another. Our cable company is not well run, so I would not mind paying them less money.
ReplyDeleteWho provides your wireless service? Not through the cable company? You must have a router connected with Cable or DSL, right?
ReplyDeleteMy Apple wireless router gives me the option of plugging in a computer in addition to having several computers connect wirelessly. Worth looking at yours tosee if that option exists.
IT, I use Verizon for my notebook, and I'm thinking of adding the new desktop computer to the Verizon account. I can have up to 5 computers on my wireless account.
ReplyDeleteThe old computer doesn't operate on wireless. It must to be connected to cable or DSL.
Set up a home network. I have four computers connected to a single account that way ... three on wireless to a wireless router (main pc and 2 laptops) which broadcasts through the house, and another main pc connected via cable to the same router. I only pay my ISP for one account.
ReplyDeletewv = cablet. !!
SR, our cable company's wireless service is poor.
ReplyDeleteI too can connect to my wireless router by cable
ReplyDeletesusankay, I could do it, too, but our cable is crap. I can't think why their wireless would be good.
