Faith is now quite uncertain. I'm no longer acting-as-if.

OH YES! THANK YOU, BISHOP GENE ROBINSON
Bishop Gene Robinson, of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire, hits the nail on the head and explains in simple terms that we can all understand what Occupy Wall Street is about.
We need to get that sort of thing out there. My sister-in-law, former Republican, disgusted with the country for the last decade or more, former Vietnam protestor, thinks Occupy is just "Give me your money."
The simple fact is, the control of those few filthy rich over the traditional media is nigh complete, and most citizens are too tired, too dispirited, too out-of-the-loop, too busy, or just too lazy to find these things on their own. Trust me, if my sis-in-law thinks this, things are bad.
That said, I still don't think Gene entirely gets it - capitalism doesn't work by itself; it has to be mixed with increasing amounts of socialism and demands on the extremely wealthy to keep a society thriving. Without that admixture, it works just like it's doing. I would also argue that his answers are a little too pat - there is, in many ways, no way to state the goal, since it isn't like the Vietnam protests, about a specific thing, but seeking a sea-change in our whole societal structure; there's no bullet points for that.
Yes. He was much more in-depth and made very cogent arguments. His point about everyone being dependent on everyone is something I'm glad to hear voiced in the media.

Bishop Gene was on Rachel Maddow's show last night, again talking about OWS and, once again, was very good. You can see the interview at The Lead.
