Why not click over to Paul Bagshaw's post at Not the Same Stream to read his excellent advice writ large in LIVING COLOR on casting your vote on the covenant. Best of all, Paul is English and not some ex-colonial interloper interfering in England's affairs.
Alas, the covenant is the affair of everyone who is a member of a church in the Anglican Communion.
Though I love his philosophy, it affects so many more people than those in England. We could be relegated to the outskirts of the Communion.
ReplyDeleteCiss, tomorrow is a hugely important day in England. If the covenant is voted down in the Church of England, there will certainly be ripple effects throughout the Anglican Communion. Once the voting is over in the synods in England, then we turn our attention to other provinces, including our own General Convention in July, where resolutions on the covenant will be submitted and voted on.
ReplyDeleteLincoln & Oxford (home of the "Yes to the Covenant" folk) have rejected the document, so that's 22 votes against it. Three Oxford bishops for; one against, BTW.
ReplyDelete'Tis done.
ReplyDeleteThanks be to God.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! I slept a little late today. Yay!
