Church bells are now ringing for everyone, with no exceptions, in Denmark as the Parliament has approved a law allowing same-sex couples to get married in church ceremonies.I doubt that the folks in the far-Right Danish People's Party are joyful, but you can't please everyone. C'est la vie.
On Thursday Danish lawmakers voted with 85 in favor and 24 against to change the country’s marriage laws wrapping up years of battle for the rights of gay and lesbian couples. The legislation was passed despite a strong campaign mounted by the far-Right Danish People’s Party.

Glad to know that all is not 'rotten in Denmark.'
ReplyDeleteThe Far Right party are probably all gay, if they're anything like Austria's far right!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway that's by the by - newspapers here are always running stories about how fabulous Denmark is to live in and if things go on this way the whole population of the UK will just have to up sticks and move to Copenhagen and that's all there is to it.
Muthah, I should have liked to use your "rotten in Denmark" in my headline if I had thought of them. I don't know why I didn't; they're pretty obvious.
ReplyDeleteCathy, the self-haters baffle me.
Oh dear. I don't know that there would be joy in the land if the population of Little England moved to Littler Denmark.
