Fred Astaire - "Dancing Cheek To Cheek"
Since you liked Fred's last video, here's Fred and Ginger. He hits the high notes in this one. Ginger's feathery dress is a touch of genius by the costume designer. If this video doesn't start your week right, then nothing will.
I suppose that commenting on blogs does not break the rule of silence during your retreat. I hope you're feeling better. Take good care of yourself and the wine.
Malcolm, back in the day, I did everything my dance partners did backwards and in high heels, too, but my partners were not Fred Astaire, and I was not Ginger Rogers. Nevertheless....
There are wonderful comments about this particular dance in "That's Entertainment, (Part I cant remember which), about the famous dress and how she hated it and so did Fred, as the feathers kept getting in mouths and noses. Also a lovely description of the two of them together "Fred provided the class, Ginger added the sex." Or something to than effect. I know the ingredients were correctly attributed!
Susan, that's so funny about the feathers. The dress looks great and the feathers swirl beautifully, but I didn't realize that they were swirling loose in the air and into their mouths and noses.
I'm a sucker for this stuff. I absolutely love it.

Yes, it shows up really well in the TE one I saw years ago on tv. They often show all of those on PBS here in SF when they're having a pledge drive.
